More Information on the LMEI 2023 Study

Some background on the overall project. Led by SaskInteractive, the project – titled Saskatchewan Technology Labour Market and Economic Impact Initiative 2023 – is designed to update the comprehensive assessment of the “technology sector” in the Province first conducted in 2019. Funded by Western Diversification (with additional support from Innovation Saskatchewan), the project has been supported from the beginning by a Steering Committee including SaskTech, Innovation Saskatchewan and other stakeholder interests. The study is being conducted by Nordicity, a vendor that was selected via a competitive RFP process (and with extensive experience in various technology sectors across the country).

This particular Roundtable will serve as an opportunity to discuss ideas and challenges at the “Employees” level. Do you work at a tech company? Do you work in tech or IT at a non-tech company? Are you self-employed as a contractor or freelancer working in this space? If so, this session is geared towards your interests.

The session will be facilitated by members of the consulting teams and will cover, at minimum, the following themes:
  • availability of employment in Saskatchewan (e.g., are there enough jobs, where are they)
  • opportunities for career advancement (and what can be done to bolster these)
  • career advancement barriers (and what kind of support is needed to break them)
  • are key drivers for job satisfaction present in Saskatchewan? (e.g, compensation, inclusive workplaces)

By lending your voice, you will be helping us better understand the technology sector in Saskatchewan, ensuring informed decisions can be made as it relates to the future direction and priorities for enabling growth in the sector.

Thank you in advance for your contribution to this pioneering study of the technology industry in Saskatchewan!
