SaskInteractive’s “Interactive Digital Media in Focus” event was held on November 21st in Saskatoon. It was a great evening that showcased some of Saskatchewan’s best innovative interactive companies and individuals. Exhibitors included zu, Luxsonic, Melcher Studios, SaskPoly’s DICE, SIIT, RAIS, Fred Co, Sleepy Dragon Games, and Dragonfly Games. A big thank you to our exhibitors and to everyone who stopped by!
Game development was a big part of the night: RAIS had several students on hand to demo some of the games that they have been working on as part of their curriculum, Fred Co, Sleepy Dragon Games, and Dragonfly games also had playable demos. Melcher Studios had 2 VR games: Hockey VR and SaskTel’s Football Toss.
SIIT presented its language revitalization project in a VR platform.
zu promoted their work in Web Development & Human Centered Design through our case studies, video reels, slides and a highlight video of our annual conference and materials around our Design Thinking Training education arm called zu Academy.
SaskPoly’s DICE performs applied research in a diversity of sectors. Common to them all is their use of sensors or computers—a tie that binds nearly every aspect of modern life. Today, devices create, manipulate, analyze, store, transmit, or display data. By extension, data is at the core of what DICE does.
Luxsonic Technologies, Inc. has been developing immersive content and software applications for the healthcare industry since 2017. They used Virtual Reality headsets to demonstrate our Luxsonic Virtual Imaging Platform, the world’s first immersive platform for radiology workflow. A collaborative, portable, virtual reality workflow platform for radiology that can be used anywhere. Transforming how radiologists work, interact, and learn
