About this Event

An intro to Augmented Reality with Andrei Feheregyhazi

In these times of Covid many are exploring new ways of communicating and interacting with the world and each other. Augmented reality(AR) has been around in research labs since the 90’s but only recently has become something that everyone has in their pocket. Apple and Google both have AR built into their phones operating systems and there is no end to the funny face filters friends share with each other.

This webinar is going to introduce you to the world of AR and some of the key pieces of tech that can make the world of AR more accessible for either marketing, galleries and and creative projects.

Bio:

Andrei Feheregyhazi is an artist based out of Saskatoon Saskatchewan Canada. He has been making art since he was a child and has exhibited globally with both his art, and animated work.

Since early 2018 Andrei has been experimenting and pushing boundaries by combining augmented reality with various forms of art. What he loves most about it is the ability to explore space and narratives in new and interesting ways. Whether it is a picture book that comes to life and animates itself in someone’s hands with the help of a phone, creating complex kinetic sculptures that never break down and ship quite easily, or anything in between.

In fall of 2019 Andrei was artist in residence at the Creative Cities Network Conference where he exhibited a variety of different augmented reality works to the public and conference attendees. He showcased and discussed various ways that augmented reality could be used to transform public spaces in a non destructive manner.
